Biostatistics

Biostatistics is the scientific application of statistical methods to biological and health-related data to design studies, analyze results, and interpret findings in medicine, public health, and biology. Biostatistics equips students with quantitative problem-solving skills to address challenges in genomics, genetics, epidemiology, environmental health, and pharmaceutical research, preparing them for careers in health data science.

Clinical placement I

Clinical Placement represents your entry point into real-world healthcare. It transitions you from classroom theory and laboratory simulations to hands-on patient interactions under professional supervision.

Ultrasound physics

Ultrasound physics revolves around using high-frequency, longitudinal mechanical sound waves (above 20,000 Hz) to visualize internal body structures. Medical diagnostic ultrasound typically operates between 2 MHz and 15 MHz. The technology relies on the pulse-echo principle, where a probe transmits sound pulses into the body and tracks the time and intensity of the returning echoes to form a grayscale image.

Fluoroscopic imaging

Fluoroscopic imaging is a medical technique that uses a continuous beam of X-rays to create real-time, moving video images of the inside of the body. Often described as an "X-ray movie," it allows healthcare providers to observe internal organs, tissues, and skeletal systems actively moving and functioning.

Evidence-Based imaging

Evidence-based imaging (EBI), also known as evidence-based radiology, is the practice of integrating the best available scientific research with clinical expertise and patient values to select the most appropriate diagnostic imaging test.

Radiographic Positioning and Techniques (Peripheral Osseous)

Radiographic positioning and technique for peripheral osseous requires strict adherence to geometry and physical parameters to maximize diagnostic value while minimizing patient radiation dose. The peripheral osseous system comprises the upper extremities, lower extremities, shoulder girdle, and pelvic girdle.
