19th century Poetry
This course surveys the main verities of English poetry during the Nineteenth Century. It introduces the students to the Victorian poetry which can best be represented by the poetry of Alfred, Lord Tennyson; the English poet Laureate of the 19th century.
19th Century Drama
This course surveys British literature during the 19th century with a focus on, drama, specially the Restoration Drama. The literature is tightly interwoven with the turbulent political and social history of the period, and so the class will also be learning about English society in the aftermath of the civil war and interregnum, the restoration and reign of the Stuart kings and the glorious or “bloodless” revolution. Other prominent themes include sex, gender, violence and religion.

The main objective of this course is to build up the students' background in Linguistics by presenting additional and more advanced information covering different linguistic issues and topics.
19th Century Novel
This course aims to enlighten the minds of the students about the important characteristics of the Victorian age novel.
Syntax
This course is mainly intended to provide students with basic knowledge of English syntax (the arrangement of words into phrases, clauses, and sentences).
